• scalability: it is possible to scale up or down according to the user needs. It will take just a few clicks to scale the database (to store records of any size). The absence of a lengthy process of installation, configuration, software migration allows to reduce time and financial costs;
• security and performance: the DBaaS provider is responsible for the data and hardware security. The system location in a remote cloud ensures the security and data integrity. Cloud computing enables fast data processing and application performance;
• self-service and flexibility: all processes are automated, all tasks for updating security, kernel, OS, software patching are the responsibility of the provider.

Database-as-a-service disadvantages:

The main DBaaS disadvantage the lack of direct access to corporate information: the storage and processing of databases is transferred to a third party, which makes it impossible to influence security and recovery measures. However, the level of reliability, security and efficiency of DBaaS far exceeds standard databases.

The need for enterprises for stand-alone cloud databases is growing today. Cost reduction, availability, renewal, flexibility, efficiency are the main factors that drive companies to use DBaaS. The global cloud database and DBaaS market is projected to reach $ 399.5 billion by 2027.
